Meet the Team: Eric White, Service Technician – Mid-Atlantic

Eric White, 34, began his car wash journey in 2007 as a high school senior in Newport News, Virginia, working at a nearby car wash location of a large regional chain. Beginning as a crew member and rising into management, he learned many facets of the car wash operation and also first encountered Howco, which serviced and supplied the wash. 

He left the car wash industry for 18 months to work at a manufacturing business that built boilers from scratch. There White honed his knowledge of mechanical drawings, electrical work, power tools, and welding. 

While getting his wife’s car washed one day, he had a chance encounter with a Howco technician he knew and learned of an opportunity with the company. 

Since 2019, he has applied his skills as a Howco service technician in the Mid-Atlantic region, where he regularly services about 25 different car wash customers. 

“I’ve always been a big ‘hands-on’ guy and absolutely love building, installing, and maintaining various types of car wash equipment,” White said. “I embrace learning and growing while helping our customers get the best performance possible from their washes. I find it particularly rewarding to fix things that present a challenge.” 

Outside work hours, Eric thrives on spending time with his wife of 7 years and their 2½-year-old daughter, as well as with extended family and friends. As a person who loves to work with his hands and repair or renovate things, his primary hobby is home improvement. He’s also a big New York Giants fan. 

“I really love my job and enjoy the car wash business. The Howco family is incredibly supportive in every aspect of work and life, and it’s also very gratifying to develop friendships with our customers. They’ve all become like family to me,” White concluded.
